The Egyptian Society for Information Systems and Computer Technology ( ESISACT) is non-governmental , non-commercial or non-profit organization authorized officially by the Egyptian Ministry of Social Affairs Under No. 3976 on 24/4/1993, with its Headquarters at Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt according to the Egyptian Law N0. 32 of the year 1964. Also, ESISACT has been reformulated according to the Egyptian Law N0. 84 of the year 2002, and its Ministerial Decree N0. 178 of the year 2002..
Objectives: The main mission of ESISACT concerns the society development in Egypt, as well as undertaking cultural, scientific and educational services in the domains of information systems and computer technology. ESISACT aims to fulfill the following objectives:
Issue pamphlets, publications and a specialized cultural and scientific professional journal.
Organize and conduct professional training programs, offer professional academic education and establish centers and institutions to achieve these activities.
Organize and conduct professional meetings, conferences, research seminars, workshops and exhibitions.
Undertake and prepare scientific research and consultation, in addition to develop software packages and establish the needed specialized centers for these activities.
Organize social, cultural and recreational programs, also, foster pilgrimage and Umbra visits to the Holly land for ESISACT's Members and their families.
Membership: The active membership is open to interested individual who process higher educational degrees and working in organizations involved in information systems and computer technologies, such as libraries, information and computer centers, Software development and services companies, academic and professional institutions and universities. Up to the beginning of 2001, the full pledged members of ESISACT have reached about 430 members who are already affiliated and attached to several Egyptian notable institutions such as the American University in Cairo, Ain Shams, Cairo, Mounefia and Tanta Universities, Sadat Academy for Management Sciences, Cabinet's Information and Decision support Center, Al Ahram Organization and Information Technology Center, Delta Computers Co.,Computeck Co., Wisam Computer Co., ... etc. Therefore, most of the full members of the ESISACT are competent experts and specialists in education, research, and software computer development and integrated information systems.
